Energy Assessments

Energy Assessments are SAP calculations and are required for all new dwellings and dwelling conversions. These calculations assess the new buildings carbon footprint and relative running cost. It takes into account the insulation of the building's envelope, orientation, ventilation, solar gain, heating and water heating.

We have 30 years experience dealing with Building Regulations Energy Performance Certificates (EPC's) - which is just an extension of the conservation of fuel and power philosophy that is now being guided at the existing housing stock.

Once the Assessment is completed you will be presented with an EPC, This will provide you with an indication of how energy efficient your property is on a scale of A to G.(A being excellent and G being poor). For comparable properties, a higher rating will result in lower fuel bills and lower carbon dioxide emissions. The certificate will offer ideas for improving the energy efficiency for a relative amount of money and is now required to be carried out before the property is sold.

We will soon be able to produce EPC's as we are currently going through the process of qualifying as a Domestic Energy Assessors. This should be in place during 2010.
